Franklin Graham Visits Haiti

Franklin Graham traveled to Haiti to review project sites in Leogane and Grand Goave.

Thousands of buildings and homes were reduced to rubble when the 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti on January 12.

 

Franklin Graham meets Luke Velnea, a “tap tap” (taxi truck) driver in Grand Goave. Velnea was injured in the quake, and he and three immediate family members all lost their homes within his small compound. They each received shelter materials and other relief supplies from Samaritan’s Purse.

 

Franklin Graham thanks a heavy equipment operator for his efforts to help clear dangerous debris from key sites in Port-au-Prince and surrounding areas.

Franklin Graham inspects a community water filter. Samaritan’s Purse has installed 10 water filtration systems in and around Port-au-Prince, each capable of providing up to 10,000 gallons of clean drinking water daily.

 

Franklin Graham meets with Major General Dan Allyn, the Deputy Commanding General of the 18th Airborne Corps. Gen. Allyn’s troops have provided security for much of our work.
